Just like in life, medical careers can evolve significantly. You may start off heading in one direction, only to find that another interest is waiting for you around the next corner. In his career, Alex Ferro, MD, an accomplished obstetrician-gynecologist and pelvic surgeon practicing in Miami Beach, Florida, has embraced not only anti-aging medicine but also medical aesthetics and wellness.
Dr. Ferro’s medical training began at Medical School at Universidad Autónoma de Centro América Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud, where he graduated summa cum laude. He continued his studies as an intern at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and then as a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercer University, Memorial University Medical Center. During his residency years, he received many honors and awards including the Berlex Teaching Resident of the year award as well as the Excellence in endoscopic surgery award. He was presented his original research at the South Atlantic Association of Obstetrician and Gynecologists conference and was published in the very prestigious American Journal of OBGYN as the primary researcher/author. Among his areas of specialty are minimally invasive pelvic surgery, advanced laparoscopy, and complex pelvic surgery.
Dr. Ferro’s special interest in anti-aging medicine led him to obtain Diplomate status with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and the desire to provide the best quality of care in all stages of life. This unique blend of specialties enables Dr. Ferro to serve women through their childbearing years and both men and women searching for anti-aging treatments, bioidentical hormone therapy, and unique therapies for sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Ferro performs a variety of anti-aging treatments such as the Vampire Facial® and Vampire Facelift®; the O-Shot®; testosterone replacement; micro-needling; skin tightening using cutting-edge radiofrequency technology; non-invasive treatments for vaginal tightening, vaginal dryness, increased sensation and painful intercourse.
When he isn’t practicing medicine, he can usually be found fishing or boating under the beautiful South Florida sun. He is an aviation enthusiast and an FAA-certified instrument-rated pilot. Dr. Ferro also enjoys traveling with his family.
